A stack of colourful books in a library

Warwickshire Libraries’ Rhyme Time moves online!

One of the first blogs I wrote on this website was about how much I loved Warwickshire Libraries‘ free weekly Rhyme Time group. It’s been really sad to see important places like libraries close during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also inspiring to see how much they have adapted and brought as much online as they can!

Over on the Warwickshire Libraries Facebook page, there’s a playlist dedicated to your regular Rhyme Time sessions, At time time when many of the libraries are still closed, staff have been reaching families via social media and running the weekly sing-a-long group via video feed, as part of their #LibrariesFromHome initiative, Hurrah!

I was also excited to read that some local libraries are starting to open up for Coronavirus-safe ‘Grab and Go’ slots during which you have 30 minutes to browse and check-out your books. Turn up any time during opening hours and you’ll be guided by staff through how it works (all the usual things – sanitiser on offer, social distancing regulations, and so on).

Since 28th September Leamington and Warwick Libraries have opened up this new facility and hopefully others will follow soon, all going well. Don’t forget you can also still ‘Click and Collect’ too.
