Last month I checked-out Hatton Park Baby & Toddler Group and thought it deserved a proper mention on the blog!
The playgroup is run by local (super)mums who volunteer on a weekly basis to bring a community group to the area for just a small entrance fee. They run every Friday (in term-time), 9.45am-11.15am at Hatton Park Village Hall (which is on Barcheston Drive, Warwick, CV35 7TR).
The mums have created a friendly and welcoming group, offering a safe space for little ones to socialise and play. There’s a designated space for babies, a craft table with different activities every week, loads of great toys for toddlers and a healthy variety of snacks for little ones (don’t forget about the needed tea and biscuits for adults).
The cost is just £2.50 per child and an additional 50p for more children. Ashley, who runs the group, says: “we also aim to run some special events through the year, and hope to open for some dates during the holidays where older siblings are welcome to attend.”
I loved the range of mint condition baby toys available – it just goes to show that you don’t have to run out and buy a ton of things to keep at home (especially as kids can get bored with things so quickly). Going to a playgroup is the perfect way for a baby to get their hands on lots of new things that they don’t see everyday! There also isn’t any structure to informal playgroups like these, so you can drop in and leave whenever you need to (sometimes this is what you need with a small baby).
You can keep up-to-date with what’s going on each week by joining the Facebook page.
